WHAT TO DO AT BARBIREY

A day in Barbirey begins with a well-balanced breakfast "made in Barbirey": in the summer months, strawberries, raspberries, currants, and grapes freshly picked, a piece of toast with house jam lovingly prepared. A full stomach, here we are faced to establish the program of the day, follow the guide!

ON SITE:

In order to keep yourself busy, no need to go far, the 8 hectares of the park are plenty enough. Enjoy a game of the French famous “pétanque” under the lime trees, walk around the courtyard using stilts, read on one of the 25 benches in the park, or even plan a fishing trip in the pond: the day will pass by without you noticing it.
The athletes will love to jog or to bike along the Canal of Burgundy, to walk in the footsteps of the Neanderthals man through the hills of Barbaricum village, to explore the medieval ruins of Marigny located on the opposite hillside and to swim in the Ouche River on a sunny day.

AROUND

On the heritage side: The famous Route des Grands Crus of Burgundy, which stretches from Dijon to Beaune via Nuit Saint Georges is parallel to the Vallée de l’Ouche, where Barbirey is. Beaune, Gevrey Chambertin, Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, Commarin, Clos Vougeot, Pommard, Romanée-Conti, so many mythical and mesmerizing destinations, unless 30 minutes of Barbirey-sur-Ouche.
On the taste buds side, you will not be disappointed, Burgundy knows how to receive you. Useless to be far away, Le Relais Château de L'Abbaye de la Buissière, and its starred chef are at 6 km. If gastronomy is not your preference, the region abounds in small cheap and friendly addresses which JB and Veronique will be happy to indicate you. For those who do not want to take the car, dont' worry, there is a warm restaurant at the opposite, on the village square, where the owners will be delighted to make you enjoy Burgundian cooking.
